Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept health insurance?
We are considered an out-of-network provider; however, we will bill insurance for you using your out-of-network insurance benefits.
How will I know if my insurance will pay for therapy?
We recommend you calling your insurance company prior to your initial session in order to verify benefits. Keep in mind, benefits are never a guarantee of payment. Here are a few questions to ask:
Whether or not therapy is covered under your plan. Specify that we are out-of-network and services will be in home/school.
How many sessions you have each year
If receiving both speech and ot, are those therapy benefit limits combined.
If you already know your diagnosis and/or cpt code, verify those are covered.
What are your in vs. out-of-network deductibles
Once the above information is collected, we can discuss your options in greater detail over the phone!
What is the benefit of using your insurance?
We bill insurance as a curtesy to you. Your rate does not change regardless of whether or not we bill your insurance, so if you have a PPO plan, we might as well bill it to to help you meet your deductible. As an out-of-network provider, we do not have to follow their rigid guidelines, such as collection amounts and timed limits of sessions. We do not collect deductibles, copays or coinsurance. You pay our private pay rate or the difference of what your insurance did not cover for each therapy session, up to our current private pay hourly rate.
Where are your services provided?
Services are offered in home, school, daycares, etc. We can go into public or private schools if the principal allows outside providers into the facility. We also often treat in ABA clinics.
Do you offer teletherapy?
In very rare cases, we will allow for teletherapy; however, we feel the best results come when therapy is provided in person.
Do we need an evaluation before starting therapy?
If you have had an assessment completed over the past year that we feel adequately reflects their current skills, we will accept the outside evaluation and simply repeat the evaluation one year from the date it was completed. If you have never received an evaluation, the first session will be to complete the initial assessment.
Do I need a script prior to beginning therapy?
If we are billing your insurance, yes. As long as you are up to date on your wellness checks, pediatricians will generally fax us over a referral after a phone call request from the parents. Our fax # is: 727-329-6603
Do you offer free screenings?
Yes! We are happy to offer a free 10-15 minute screening or phone consultation with an SLP to see if your child could benefit from a full assessment.
If completed at a daycare, we MUST have a screening consent form on file prior to completing the screening.
What payment forms do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards. Payment is due and processed automatically on the 10th-18th day of the month following your services.
What if insurance pays you after I have already paid?
This happens often! If we have already collected money from a session and we receive payment for that session, it appears in our system as a credit. We then PAY YOU BACK directly into your checking or savings account. Fill out that ACH form in the intake paperwork as we cannot pay back credit cards, only ACH!
